Hi all. I'm pretty new to the forum but hoping to be a bit more active now that I have a smoker to play with! Built mine based mainly off a fix.com info graphic. It was good although you have to convert the measurements to metrics. Was a pretty easy project especially for someone that isn't very experienced in DIY projects. First cook was some ribs cooked with a basic rub and some hickory chips and then finished with sweet baby rays . I haven't got my charcoal basket yet, the hardest part of the build has been sourcing non treated expanded metal. I finally found some through Robot Building supplies although I've had to buy a full sheet of it. As the ribs wasn't a long cook I managed to get through by just laying the charcoal on my basket base and had more than enough fuel to cook for 4 hours or so. Other than the basket I need to do some more testing on the heat distribution (maybe a deflector?) and accuracy of the gauge. Hoping to try a smallish brisket this weekend.

File comment: Paint came off pretty good with the burn and then a wire brush drill attachment. Hard trouble with the bottom couple of inches as the fire mustn't have been as hot down there
