Sigh..

May the Fourth has come and gone again without being commemorated on this forum

To address this imbalance, here is my review of Star Wars, The Force Awakens

I know it was a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away but what is wrong with these people??

It seems every 30 or so years there is the rise of another Galactic Empire hell bent on enslaving everybody and for what??

There never seems to be a credible reason and lets face it, the empire never lasts long and will ultimately be destroyed by the best looking freedom fighters going

I don't get it either. How can every species in the galaxy go to the pub and have a beer with each other and they are still fighting wars. This is a galaxy so advanced they have developed the ability to travel at faster than the speed of light yet no one has been able to write a conflict resolution program that works

Maybe it is a bit simpler than that. Darth Vader and Kylo Ren are exactly the same. Broody, petulant loners who never got invited to parties in high school. I think if we had a waiting period on the purchase of death stars we could avoid a lot of unnecessary blowing up of planets!!

Ribs with sides

I will say this though, Mark Hamill completely nailed his part as Luke Skywalker. Best part of this movie

I missed that it was Star Wars day yesterday. Was too busy. As for my take on this latest movie, it didn't do it for me. They played it safe, but, Disney sort of had to. Waaay too much expectation for it and a new generation of people to please.
Shit. Gotta work. Will edit and add more later.

Bad Taste

Peter Jackson once made some cool movies. Meet The Feebles, Braindead, Heavenly Creatures(great flick) and why not, The Frighteners

But this movie... This is what can happen when you have no cash but want to tell a story. You invent, resort and improvise and create a classic

It's a gross, gore filled farce of an alien invasion harvesting human meat and the heroes who must save us

I LOVE IT!! It was one of the first gross out movies I saw and fuelled a love of the genre

I mean how can you not love a movie where somebody is leaking their brain out the back of their head, cuts an alien in half with a chainsaw and then dresses in their skin as they blast into outerspace :?: :?:

And that vomit eating scene is all time!!

Pork, you sick little monkey

Oh, and Archer may be the best show EVVAHH!! Nah, that is still Buffy the Vampire Slayer but when you make jokes like this...

That still cracks me up

Freakin love Archer. Had never even heard of it until about 6/12 months ago. Grabbed the whole series and binge watched the lot.
Loved Archer's "Bok Bok" comment a few episodes ago.

I watched Zombeavers yesterday. OMG, it's even worse than the title implies.

Zombeavers. Ha Ha. I like corny D grade movies like that sometimes, but they're getting out of hand.

Yeah, I kinda like this movie and I kinda don't. It does have the brilliant Judy Greer as the lead and Aubrey Plaza in it but there is really no character that has any redeemable personal traits and they seek redemption far too late to feel any empathy for them

And there are aspects of the plot that really grate. It is about a "sex addict"(Judy) in recovery who kills a person and the efforts she and her sister go to to dispose of the body

What this very dark comedy has is some genuinely funny moments. The robbery of the sex store and the sale of the ahem... items at the "softball event" is funny and so is that rap at the Bar Mitzvah. Yeah that was really funny actually

It is hit and miss. Entertaining but ultimately unsatisfying

Brisket

I'm going to see The Witch tomorrow, really looking forward to it but right now I am going to drunkenly argue about stuff on Twitter. Got one person on the ropes and about to deliver the knockout blow
