We import the Yoder brand into Australia & all YS models are fully converted to 240V & are 100% compliant for Australian law. All the 240V electronics is now completely different than the US 110V model & we keep all spare parts here in Australia. Together with our retailers we offer the leading industry warranty & after sales support.
Both the Mak & Memphis grills are quality grills & we looked at importing into Australia when making our decision.
Neither Mak or Memphis are currently imported into Australia & while it would be great to have them here I would be surprised if anyone imports them to sell.
There is a good choice of pellet grill fuel here. Shipping to Australia is a bit of a killer, 20LB Bags of BBQr's Delight pellets that we import retail for around $35.00 AU per bag, saying that, most of our retailers do really good deals for Yoder customers buying 10+ bags at a time.
Regarding bringing over a US 110V model, unfortunately its not quite as easy as just plugging in a transformer, although this can be done & the BBQ will work, it just wont behave like it is designed to do & behaves in the US. I think that if you purchased a US 110V Mak or Memphis & cooked on it in the US & then brought it back to Australia with you & plugged a transformer in, you would be very disappointed in the performance here.
Not an easy one, but I hope this helps somewhat
