Noticed this as I was putting on some poppers to have with lunch

Apologies for it being hard to see in the light

For a primo only a couple of months old it seems odd to be seeing cracking like that already. Or is it just normal for the coating to do that?

Haven't cleaned up the inside enough to check if it is happening to the ceramic as well

I don't have that issue on my Kamado Joe, its about 5-6 years old maybe. It's kept outside under a reg bbq cover but not under a structure like a pergola or anything. Maybe my cover is saving it a bit from that cracking.

Those bad boys are not cheap, i'd get i touch with where you got it and ask them why it occurred. I know it's only aesthetic thing but i wouldn't be ashamed of getting it replaced.

yeah kept under cover at all times. It may be just aesthetic but I would have expected it to last longer so i am certainly planning on getting in touch with Primo about it. Just wanted to check if it is likely to be a sign of something worse.

Hey Zepth. That light surface crazing is pretty normal I think. My Primo looked like that on arrival before use. The crazing is under the outer clear glaze, and hasn't altered with use.

Here's a good answer on Primo Forums. Your crazing is normal. (You may not be able to link if not a member of forum. Worth joining for Primo specific information).

Thanks Zammo,

It seems it may have been there all along, and I just didn't notice.

If that's the case I wont stress, it certainly doesn't stop the food I cook from tasting awesome :)

Completely normal mate. Same on mine, forums in USA show the same to. All good nothing to worry about.

I noticed this "crazing" on showroom Primos which staff advised as normal from manufacture. I bought one and see no increase on mine.

I love the shape of the Primo XL, I think I said in another thread if I were to upgrade I'd buy one of those because they look so schmick. I'm a bit disappointed to see it. Love the shape of them, my bet if there is a bit of talk that newer models will be a bit different.
