Hello everyone,

Thanks for having me here glad to be apart of the community

I'm an Marine technition in the Royal Australian navy and really enjoy my BBQ...obviously

I'm on the right side of thirty and still eager to learn as much as I can from every one.

I've recently completed my apprenticeship on my webber and have purchased my first offset smoker. Giving it a test run on fire management this weekend.

Any tips and advice will be very gladly accepted

Hi Stoker,

Ex RAN myself, some years back. Was based at Waterhen, I assume as are you?

Get your self a good digital BBQ thermometer, preferably with 2-3 probes, like the Weber iGrill. Essential when mastering a smoker is to know the box temp, the meat core temp and the exhaust temps.
