Aussie Pitmasters as of the next possible competitions will be introducing a number of "crew" positions to our Aussie Pitmasters team.
This has been made possible by our amazing sponsors contributions to Aussie Pitmaster competition team
We have made this decision as our teams vision is aligned to this forums vision which is to share knowledge and resources with the public.
Recruitment drives per event will be posted in the relative events section

The Aussie Pitmasters "crew" positions will compromise of a number of responsibilities which include (but are not limited to)
- Photography and social media over the course of the event.
- Prep of meats and turnin boxes during the event
- Setup/Packup of the Aussiepitmasters location
- "Runners" for turning in boxes to the Judges
- Being a good spokesperson for Australian BBQ and answering questions to the public attending the event

Considerations
- As each events space may be limited it is expected that team members have their own sleeping arrangements (a tent/swag or local accomodation)
- AussiePitmasters will help where possible however transport to/from the event will be the responsibility of the individual where aussie pitmasters is unable to assist
- Behavior is of the upmost importance at events and when present at an event a crew member is expected to behave in an ordely manner
- A team tshirt will need to be purchased for the event by the crewmember
- All out of pocket expenses (food, alcohol, transport, accomodation ect) are the responsibility of the individual
- All team winnings will be reinvested into team equipment and running costs

What you will be Given
- Aussie pitmasters will provide a "crew" branded aussie pitmasters tshirt
- Access to the Aussie Pitmasters team forum section for discussion of the event
- Tickets for entry to the competition
- Team briefings on the cooking methods, times and products used for the competition
- Lunch/Dinner will be provided during the event times and bottled water during the event
- The opportunity to learn about the process of a competition and cooking methods/flavours used in competition cooking

Why have we done this?

we realise after the last event at Port Mac that there were many members of the public that were very keen on starting a BBQ team but were unsure or at that time couldnt afford to create a team at the time.
There were also other teams that did not have experience with competitions where having a "mentor team" would have been very beneficial to their teams success.

It's a generous offer Beaver, none of us were lucky enough to have the chance to join a comp team to learn the ropes!

We had to work it out the hard way

thats exactly right. many mistakes have been made (which is part of the fun of it but can be an expensive endeavour) and hopefully those whom want to get their feet wet but not jump straight in can get a "taste".
