The Yoder YS1500 Pellet Cooker has redefined versatile. The integrated heat management system (HMS) that was perfected in our wood pits is now available to pellet cooks! The HMS gives the pitmaster outstanding temperature control from side to side, making it easy to grill off a bunch of steaks, fill it full of Pork or Lamb butts and briskets or cook an entire competition on it. Mounted on Yoder's competition cart with 10" pneumatic tires you have exceptional style and unmatched mobility.

Yoder Smokers has a full time testing area within their factory in Kansas. Yoder use an eight-channel calibrated temperature data recorder to monitor what’s happening in the pit at various points of the cooking grate. As manufacturers, Yoder typically wants to know the same things a cook wants to know – how much a pit’s grate temperature deviates from side-to side, how long it takes to go from zero to cooking temp, how well a temperature is held once it’s dialed in, etc.
In the case of the pellet cookers, Yoder also has a companion piece of software we developed in-house that connects directly with a cooker and records a stream of data that gives us a detailed look at the internal state of the cooker’s microcontroller as well the various physical components like the fans, auger, and igniter.
After Yoder finish collecting a run of data, they marry the cooker datastream and the standalone temperature data logger’s data together to get a coherent picture of of the overall run, which is when they can begin making intelligent decisions about new features or product lines.

Yoder have spent many thousands of hours in the test bay, ensuring that their products are the best that they can possibly make them, and that they are, in fact, competition grade.

What a beast!!

Any reason for this? Was it a market demand to go bigger? Just curious!

Feedback was received by Chefs that 2 of their Pans didn't fit side by side in the YS1320 so it was made longer so that they would.

I guess I dont understand people having an issue with them building a pellet cooker. If people want it, why not? Its a cooker....they build cookers....

As for designing his own hopper system? Maybe he knows he can build one hellova pit. Once you start adding electronics into the mix its a completely different ball game.
